In a major development, the 2024 edition will see the introduction of promotion and relegation with the winner of the Menâs and Womenâs Pacific Bowls to play off against the third-placed Pacific Cup nations for a place in their respective 2025 Pacific Cup pools.

Fiji will host Pacific Championship matches for the first time as the event expands further into the Pacific in 2024, with Port Moresbyâs Santos Stadium to once again host matches alongside Brisbane, Christchurch, Auckland and Sydney.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said the introduction of promotion and relegation adds extra significance to each contest following the success of the maiden Pacific Championships in 2023. Â

The upcoming season of the Womenâs National Cricket League (WNCL) kicked off on September 24 and will run till March 2 (2025), showcasing Australiaâs leading domestic female cricket talent. Matches will take place across several prominent cities, including Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Hobart, at some of the nationâs most iconic cricket venues.. These diverse locations are set to provide a variety of playing conditions, from the fast-paced surfaces of the WACA to the temperate, swinging conditions in Hobart. Each venue will host six home matches for their respective teams, ensuring local fans can witness high-quality cricket action firsthand.

Cricket Australia has unveiled the schedule for this summerâs Womenâs Big Bash League, with the tenth edition of the T20 tournament getting underway on Sunday, October 27.

The WBBL has been shortened to 43 matches this season, including three finals games, to align with the menâs competition which was also reduced last summer.

The Gabba will host a WBBL match for the first time in six years this summer, with the Brisbane Heat facing reigning champions Adelaide Strikers at the iconic venue on Saturday, November 9. Adelaide Oval, the SCG and the MCG will also host WBBL matches in an expanded âStadium Seriesâ.
