Brisbane Heat Men vs Sydney Thunder Men

(6th January)

In a new-look Heat squad, Wildermuth, Wood and Prestwidge will each have the chance to add to their respective BBL playing history if chosen in the starting side for the first time since 2022.

Prestwidge played three games in the COVID-affected 2021-22 season, making his debut in a hastily assembled team in Geelong after the bulk of the main Heat squad were sidelined through illness on the Gold Coast.

Wildermuth last played for the Heat in 2022-23 and along with Wood, were part of the squad that claimed the BBL|13 title last season without being called into action.

The Heat has named a 14-man squad for tomorrow, with international batter Colin Munro be assessed before play after reporting tightness in his hamstring during training earlier this afternoon at the MCG.

Brisbane Bullets vs Cairns Taipans

(17th January)

Through necessity the Brisbane Bullets have found a fast-pace, high-scoring shooting dominant style of play that is working but what coach Justin Schueller wants them to keep working on is getting better defensively the rest of NBL25.

The Bullets didn’t necessarily plan on playing at that fast pace and with a focus on having a point guard like Mitch Norton creating good looks for Casey Prather, James Batemon and Keandre Cook, and then having the option of going inside to Tyrell Harrison too.

A lot of that was simply because coming into the season and Josh Bannan and Sam McDaniel were locked in just about to starting roles providing a different look for the group at both ends of the floor with the likelihood at least one of Prather, Batemon or Cook would come off the bench, if not two.
