Spring into volleyball year-round by joining one of Brisbane’s social volleyball competitions. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced player, there are options for everyone.

What exactly is indoor volleyball?

  • Indoor volleyball is typically played on an undercover hard court. Unlike beach volleyball which is played in sand and often outside.
  • 6 players on a team, 3 on the front row and 3 on the back row.
  • Players may not hit the ball twice in succession (A block is not considered a hit).
  • The ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve.
  • To score a point the ball must hit the ground within the outlined section in your opponents half.
  • You can also score a point by your opponent failing to hit the outlined section within your half or your opponent hitting the ball into the net.
  • Games are played out in the best of 3 or 5 sets and the team with the most sets at the end of the game wins.
